The Alfa Romeo 8C Barchetta Istria is a concept design created exclusively for Tour of Istria entrants. We trust that the sketches of various design ideas presented here will inspire and spark the imagination of the participants at this special Alfa Romeo event.
The designs have been developed as an homage to historic coachbuilders as well as to explore the idea of creating a modern bespoke one-off car. The drawings are based on a Ferrari power train, chosen as the closest to the Alfa Romeo DNA. Rear-wheel drive and front mid engine architecture hosts V8 Coure Sportivo with 4.3 L that delivers 460 CV in factory set-up.
It’s hard to beat the sensation that comes with owning a one-off car. Tailor made to suite the connoisseur’s personality, each car leaves their own mark in history. Without such personalities there would be no cars like Stella Volante or Alfa Jankovits built in late 30es in Rijeka, a city on the Istrian border.
The nautical inspired 8C Barchetta Istria is designed by Uros Pavasovic, a London based car and yacht designer. Uros holds an enviable portfolio of super yacht and car designs. He has been involved in the creation of some of the largest and most spectacular yachts in the world. As a testament to his creativity his Fiat Scratch has found its place at the Museum of Contemporary and Modern Art in Rovereto at the exhibition of 100 years of Car History.
